For 8"several months following the publication of the Bank's Notification the staff was primarily engaged in the distribution of the printed blank forms to the pulic directly or through the branches of the Reserve Bank and the Scheduled Banks. [...] In order to secure this objective the returns were serially numbered and the perforated portions of the schedules on the first and the last pages bearing names and addresses were removed and placed in files which always remained with officers of the Bank so that the returns handled by the staff contained only serial numbers without the identity of the names and addresses of the 'persons' filing t [...] The Governments of the States and the Unions of States actively coperated with the Bank by promulgating the requisite legislation and the Bank's Notification was made applicable to all the States which had acceded to the Indian Union and also to the State of Hyderabad. [...] (6) Insurance policies--endowment and annuity : Their worth as on the date of the Census has been actuarially estimated after taking into account the total premia paid to the insurance companies till then and the number of years remaining for the maturity of the policy in the case of endowment polcies and the lump sum payment made to the insurance company and the number of years yet to be cov [...] A foreign bank negotiating the exporter's bill of exchange might either debit the account of the bank opening the letter of credit or forward ttie bill with the documents to the bank in the importer's country and reimburse itself by getting a remittance of the proceeds from the latter.
