Annual Factory Report of the Presidency of Bombay 1914

The charges at present allotted to the Inspectors are as follows :-- To the 1st Inspector—the factories on the west of the G. I. P. Railway Line in the Town and Island of Bombay and those in Poona Satara Ahmednagar Sholdpur Belgaum Bijipur Dhdrwdr and Koldba. [...] To the 3rd Inspector—the factories in the Island of Bombay lying on the east of the G. I. P. Railway Line and those in the districts of Thana Ndsik East Kliandesh and the Dhulia Taluka of West* Khandesh. [...] To the 4th Inspectof—part of the factories in the Ahmedabad City and the Ahmedabad District and those situated in the Sind Province-"The post of the whole-time Certifying Surgeon for the Town and Island of Bombay and Kuria in the Thana District was held by the following officers during the year under report. [...] The following table shows the number of women and children employed in the Town and Island of Bombay and the mofussil for the past five years:— Year. [...] 1 010 1 The man was seated on the platform over the top of the beater cage to expedite the work of passing the cotton along the trellis table into the scutcher beater when he overbalanced and fell into the cage of the beater.
