The Alfred High School at Rajkot the oldest institution of the kind in Kathitimad was handed over to the RAjkot State and the number of boys has increased from 132 to 500. [...] For the European High School examination 20 passed out of 28 ; for the Matriculation 96 out of 169 ; for the Cambridge Locals 5 out of 5 passed the Higher examination 17 out of 38 the Senior 21 out of 64 the Junior and 30 out of 55 the Preliminary. [...] A joint conference of the Nadifid teachers was hofd on January 1st 1911 when the women teachers complained of the annoyance they had to undergo from young men in the streets and of the scandalous rumours spread against them and appealed to the male teachers for their assistance and protection ; and the latter with the support of the School Board made rounds of the streets morning and evening [...] In the Southern Division 34 Mahomedans passed the Vernacular Final of whom 10 joined the Training College and 7 were employed as assistants ; in the Northern 49 passed and 16 were admitted to the Training College though only 10 cut of the 16 really passed the entrance examination. [...] Though the average monthly number on the rolls and the average daily attenance both increased the ratio of the latter to the former declined from 76'2 to 75.5 per cent.
