(4) The classical poets usually dealt with the formal and artificial life of aristocratic people but the Romantic poets were forever revealing the beauty and the mystery the pathos and the wonder that may be found in the life of een the commonest people. [...] The final form of his poems is the result of much revision and improvement the imagery of his poetry is exquisitely polished ; the phrases are usually neatly formed and fitted to the structure of the line ; the diction is smooth and melodious. [...] In The Enquiry into the Present State of Polite Learning in The Citizen of the World in his minor Essays and ever in his History of the Earth and Animated Nature can be seen fooprints of his pilgrimage. [...] Whatever might have been the origin of the idea the details of the poem were undoubtedly derived from the poet's personal observation of the general condition of the peasantry in Ireland and to some extent in England also. [...] — accumulation of wealth in the hands of a few rich persons as a result of the growth of commerce leads to the decay of the peasantry depopulation and the weakening of national character.
