He was a Municipal Commissioner a member of the Bengal Legislative Council a member of the Calcutta Improvement Trust a member of the British India Association an Honorary ?residency Magistrate Honorary Secretary of the Indian section of the District Charitable Society a representative of the Corporation on the Electric Supply Corporation Consultative Committee and of many other Institutions [...] We have not yet forgotten the part he played in alleviating the distress of the non-co-operators under the inhuman treatment in the new Jail at Watgunj and Kidderpore by personal inspections and drawing the attention of the authcrities to the brutality of the treatment accorded to thousands of young men who went to jail for a mere idea. [...] D. C. Ghose moved : - - "That steps be taken in collaboration with such of the officers and members of the staff of the Corporation as may be desirous of joining to perpetuate the memory of Rai Bahadur"[ 35 ] Radha Churn Pal in a befitting manner and that for this purpose a committee consisting of the Chairman of the Corporation as President the members of the Executive Committee of the Corpora [...] That steps be taken in collaboration with such of the officers and members of the staff of the Corporation as may be desirous of joining to perpetuate the memory of Rai Bahadur Radha Churn Pal in a befitting manner and that for this purpose a committee consisting of the Chairman of the Corporation as President the members of the Executive Committee of the Corporation Club and three representativ [...] He took the greatest possible interest in the discussions on the Calcutta Municipal Bill in the Select Committee of which he was a member ; and he was present as usual at the meeting of the Select Committee in the Town Hall on the morning of December the 8th and attended the Corporation meeting on that afternoon.
