[...] Needless to say every possible economy without jeopardising the wellbeing of the properties is being insisted on and I am glad to say that in their endeavours the Board is receiving the wholehearted support of the Management the Company's Agents in India and the Secretaries here in London. [...] A glance at the Revenue Account shows that the loss on the year's working amounted to some £17 800— and this sum is mainly accounted for by (a) a drop in Revenue from teas sold following the harvesting of a smaller crop as compared with 1948 and (b) the following increases in expenditure : Loss on foodstuffs etc. [...] We have examined the above Balance Sheet and annexed Profit and Loss and opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations given us the said the Balance Sheet gives a true and fair view of the state of the Company's affairs as at 31st Die ended on that date. [...] In our counts give the information required by the Companies Act 1948 in the manner so required and ember 1949 and the Profit and Loss Account gives a true and fair view of the loss for the year W.
