I should however like to draw your attention to the fact that the profit on Revenue Account of £56 298 is by far the biggest so far earned by the Company and although shareholders will not receive any immediate benefit from this in the shape of an increased dividend it does mean that in spite of the heavy burden of taxation the financial resources of the Company have been appreciably augmented [...] Whether or not this hope will materialize must of course depend on the results of the current year and of next year but as after 1st January next the amount of Debenture Stock outstanding will have been reduced to £34 850 by the application of the sums set aside for this purpose from the 1949 profits it is certainly not let us say beyond the bounds of possibility. [...] We have obtained all the information and explanations which to the best of our knowledge and belief were necessary for the purposes of our audit. [...] In our opinion and to the best of our information and according to explanations given us th said accounts give the information required by the Companies Act 1948 in the manner so required and the Balance Sheet gives a true and fair view of the state of the Company's affairs as at 31sle D ber 1949 and the Profit and Loss Account gives a true and fair view of the profit for the year ended on tha [...] for the following purposes :- To receive and pass the Directors' Report and Accounts for the year ended 31st December 1949 To declare a Dividend To fix Auditors' remuneration and to transact the ordinary business of the Company.
