Report on the Administration of the Police in the Province of Orissa for the year 1941

the latter part of the year there were caste disputes between Jadavas (Gowalas) and Non-J adavas in the Kendrapara subdivision of Cuttack which culminated in a couple of serious riots with murder and necessitated the posting of armed forces in several villages at the expense of the villagers. The Police Training School was expanded to include the training of sub-inspectors of both Orissa proper and the Orissa States and later in the year also undertook to cater for the training of sub-inspectors and petty cfiicers of the Excise Department.
