The following were the comments of the examiners on the scripts aubmitted:- Composition Grammar and Dictation.—In most cases children grasped the spirit of the subject selected and wrote vividly; some did not limit theselves to the length required while a few others Were weak and below standard. [...] Teachers should stress the importance of the sentence and the necessity of a full stop at the end of a complete statement. [...] The Provincial Board Bengal is most earnest in its efforts to raise the standard of this course and make it a valuable alternative to the more academic courses (Cambridge Locals and Matriculation) for the more pratically-minded type of pupil following in some measure the recommendation of the Spells Committee for the reconstruction of education in England. [...] I strongly urge that more time be devoted to the study of Hindi generally and the importance of the vernacular be stressed."11 Frequency Distribution Curve of the Marks obtained on the Hindi Paper. [...] The shading in some drawings was haphazard and in some others i monotonous the entire surface of the drawing being covered over in one tone with no distinction between the parts of the ohjects facing the light and the parts turned away from it.
