From an adjacent house on the occasion of a wedding a most exquisite music (on the sanai) filled the air in beautiful harmony with the rolling thunder the clouded darkness and the patter of the downpour outside and the saness and sobs of those who were inside surrounding her whom they held so near and dear. [...] But strangely enough the clouds dispersed the heavens ceased ' weeping ' and the sun shed its drying rays when in the afternoon friends and relations gathered in large numbers to attend the farewell service and to have a last look at her face; and to carry on their shoulders or follow the flower-laden bier barefoot to the crematorium where her mortal remains were to be reduced to ashes. [...] She was the ideal wife and mother queen of the household." Many were the " visible rays " of her character and personality which in spite of her shy and modest nature were unavoidably apparent. [...] Many of her paintings adorn the homes of friends; and in 1906 she won the Gold Medal of the Exhibition of the 22nd Indian National Congress for the best still-life painting in oils.
