Proceedings of the Government of Bengal Department of Commerce and Labour Commerce - For the Month of May 1937

1938

If the date on which the boiler will be ready for inspection as stated in the application by the owner is unsuitable for inspection of the boiler the Inspector shall fix a date within thirty days from the date of the receipt of the application for such inspection and will give the owner not less than ten days' notice of the date so fixed." 5. For Form B No. [...] 1 as drafed :— Provision may be made in rule 19 to the effect that in the case of inspection of boilers belonging to Government a cheque for the inspection fees chargeable under the rules may be attached with the application for the inspection of boilers instead of the treasury receipt. [...] Rule 2—Payment of fees etc.—Athough this change of procedure is of little consequence it would appear to have the following disadvantages :- (1) That the original Treasury Rceipt will probably have to pass through the hands of the Managing Agents from the Treasury to the Mills who in turn present it to the Chief Inspector of Boilers; there is the slight possibility of loss in transit. [...] Regarding clause 4 of the draft Amendments substituting a new rule for the existing rule 19 the Committee think that the procedure of sending the inspection fee to the Government Tresury and awaiting the receipt of the same and then sending the Application form with the receipt attached thereto to the Chief Inspector of Boilers will result in an unnecessary waste of time and money. [...] If the date on which the boiler will be ready for inspection as stated in the application by the owner is unsuitable for inspection of the boiler the Inspector shall fix a date within thirty days from the date of the receipt of the application for such inspection and will give the owner not less than ten days' notice of the date so fixed.
