To All Members of the Cham and all Affiliated Bodies NOTICE Is hereby given in pursuance of Article 51 of the Articles of Asaociation of the Chamber that the Fifty-fifth Annual General Meeting of the Chamber will bc held on FRIDAY THE 27th MARCH 1942 in the Chamber Hall P-2 MissiOn Ruw Extension Calcutta at 4 P. M. to transact the following business :— 1. To receive the Report of the working [...] However the declaration bore the offer of some advance for the interim period of the war in the shape of the Expanded Executive Council of the Viceroy with a majority of non-official Indians and the National Defence Council with representation of British India and the Indian States. [...] The capacity of the spinning mills and the spining sections of the cotton mills was taxed to the utmost for s-ipL ling yarns to the weaving mills and the weaving sections of the mills as well as to handloom weavers and also to tide hosiery chills. [...] The International Tea Committee were of opinion that in view of the heavy burden of work developing on the Governments of the producing countries because of the war the nresent agreement should bey cotinued for the duration of the present hostilities and for two years tb.reafter. [...] The question of the renewal of the Indian Tea Control Act 1938 -.vhich was due to expire on the 31st March 1943 also engaged the attenticn of all the producers and though nothing definite had yet been done the concensus of opinion favoured the continuation of the Act for the same period as that of the In+ernational Tea Agreement.
