Mitra : Has it not been brought to the notice of the Honourable Member by several petitions of the relatives of these State Prisoners that the only inquiry that the Government of Bengal made was through a police sub-inspector or a head constable and that was also very prefunetorily The Honourable Mr. [...] S. Mitra : Is it a fact that the Government of India and the Government of Bengal generally take from four to six months and some times even more to fix the allowance for the families of State prisoners and detenus and that in the meantime their families are given no maitenance allowance ? The Honourable Mr. [...] T. Ryan : If the Honourable Member will refer to Chapter XVI of the Report of the Posts and Telegraphs SuCommittee of the Retrencment Advisory Committee a copy of which is in the Library he will find information as to the position and what the Sub-Committee said about it.
