M. B. was appointed to the Professorship of Psychlogy in 1938 and in March 1939 the Senate adopted the recommendation of the Syndimte and the Executive Comittee of the Council of Post-Graduate Teaching in Arts for the appointment of Mr. [...] The pr-oposal was accepted by the Government of India and the Chair was named after the Earle of Minto the then Chacellor of the University. [...] The reasons for the discontinuance of the grant as set forth by the Government of India in their letter dated the 23rd September 1938 are as follows :— At the present time opportunities for the study of the Science of Economics and the investigation of ecnomic problems are provided widely and in increasing number by the Universities and other agencies. [...] The matter was then placed before the Finance Committee for considertion and the re-olution of the Finance Committee that the salary of the Professor should be met from the Fee Fund from the next year (1910-41) was accepted by the Syndicate and the Senate. [...] A report of the work done by him during the first two years together with the papers published by him embodying the results of his researches during this period as also an outline of the scheme of work which he intended to do in the third year of his Fellowship was duly considered and approved by the committee for the award of the Fellowship.
