The importance of these researches cannot be overestimated not only from the point of view of improvement of agrculture but that of increasing the wealth of the country. [...] action for the destruction of waterhyacinth by organisation of voluntary labour through the persuasive intervention of District and Subdivisional Officers was effectively carried on in several subdivisions of Jessore Dacca and Tippera districts and the Serajganj subdivision of Pabna district.
