1608 L.—6th June 1932.—In pursuarice of the provisions of sub-section (3) of section 81 of the Government of India Act the following Act of the local legislature of Bengal having been assented to by the Governor General on the 28th May 1932 is hereby published for general information :—24 TIT I; CALCUTTA GAZETTE JUNE 9 1932. [...] 2. The Elephants Preservation Act 1879 hereinafter referred to as the said Act shall in its application to Bengal be amended in the manner hereinafter provided. [...] 3. To section 3 of the said Act the following clause shall be added namely :- (d) such elephant is proclaimed under section 5A." 4. After section 5 of the said Act the following section shall be inserted namely :— VI of 1879. [...] The Collector or Deputy Commissioner of any district if satisfied that any wild elephant has become dangerous to human life and property may subject to such rules as may for the time being be in force under this Act issue a proclamtion giving a description of the elephant and offering the reward fixed by the Local Government from time to time for the killing of proclaimed wild elephants to a [...] " A inendinont of section 6. 5.
