Munshi in his speech during the dis- cussion of the Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture on the 7th April, 1951. [...] Speaker: The question is: "In pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 4A of the Indian Tariff Act. , 1934 (XXXII of 1934), this House hereby approves the notifi- cation of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Reve- nue Division) No. [...] I am not going to take more time of the House, but I would like to read out two brief passages from the judgment of the Supreine Court which is concerned with the levying of taxes on -advertisements in one of the States in' the United States. [...] The Finance Minister said very briefly at- the end . of the debate the other day that the effect of the passing of this measure is to tide up the present position. [...] is the light of its history and of its present setting, it is seen to be a deliberate and calculated device in the guise of a tat: to limit the circulation of information to which the public is entitled in virtue of the constitu- tional guarantees.
