Das: Will the Minis- ter of Defence be pleased to state: (a) the total number of cases, still pending before Government for set- tlement of claims of compensation for the lands and buildings that were re- quisitioned and taken possession of by the then -Defence Department of the Government of India during the last war: (b) the causes for delay for the set- tlement of these claims: (c) how Go [...] M. Das: May I know whether in that case Government is prepared to pay interest on the value determined by Government for the time between the final settlement of the claims and the actual payment of the money? Das: In view of the fact that about ten years have passed since these lands and buildings were acquired by Government and that compensation has not been paid to these claimants, may I know whether Government is aware of the sufferings and dissatis- faction of the people due to the non- settlement of the claims and the non- payment of the amounts?
