The Lord Chancellor had in view the amalgamation of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council with the appeal jurisdiction of the House of Lords. [...] We take the following from the Law Tinter of 19th May 1900 :-- Lord Stanley of Alderley called attention to an article in the Law Times of the 13th January on the Indian Executive and the Judiciary ; to the evils of uniting judicial and executive functions as exemplified in the Chuma case ; and to the insufficient action of the Bengal Government with respect to those who (lid well and those who [...] THE Niceroy in his resolution on the Chupra case alluded to the question of separation of the executive and judicial functions of officers and we believe the matter is now engaging the attention of the Goernment of India. [...] on the 5th June 1900 and the Court Held—That the objection of misjoinder was made for the first time-before the Sessions Judge and was disallowed as an irregularity which did not affect the trial and that the objection could and should have been raised in the Court of the Magistrate immdiately after the charges which were objectionable had been explained to the accused and that whatever may [...] That the act of taking is not in the proper sense of the term a continuous act; when once the boy or girl has been actually taken out of the keeping of the guardian the act is a completed one.
