the Chamber' of Commerce to the Goverment of India on the question of some mucneeded reforms in the distribution and disposal of work on the Original Side. of the High Court. [...] Since the retirement of the late Registrar his Lordship the Chief Justice has consulted the learned judges and has had considerable opportnities of ascertaining the views of the profession with regard to the matter and fortified with such opinion has but lost little time in representing to the Government of India as to how matters as they at present stand on the original Side may be adequate [...] The Court of Appeal as regards the cross-appeal held that without deciding whether under the circumstances the Defendant as mortgagee could recover the amount of the wages paid to the crew the corrspondence proved that there was an implied request on the part of Defendant to Plaintiff to pay the wages to the crew therefore the cross-appeal failed. [...] The applicaticrn was made in the course of the hearing of a money suit which was brought by the Petitioner against her father the opposite party and was opposed by the latter who filed a counter-affidavit alleging that his daughter the Petitioner was a woman of immoral character carrying on prostitution in his own house with the help of her sister. [...] In support of the Rule it was contended that as it was not alleged in the counter-affidavit that the Petitioner was not a purdanashin lady the mere allegation of immorality against hedid not justify the Munsif's order and that the High Court could interfere with the order of the Munsif under sec.
