The Government is bound to see in its own interest no less than in the interest of the people of India that there should not be a conpiracy on the part of the soldiers and officers of a British regiment to screen an offender when he happens to be one of them. [...] X of the Code of Criminal Procedure to assist in the dispersal of an unlawful assembly likely to cause a disturbance of the public peace shall be instituted except with the sanction of the Governor-General in Council. [...] Some of the shareholders of the Company presented a petition to the District Judge of Bankura alleging that the directors and officers of the Company had misapprpriated large sums of money belonging to the Company. [...] After hearing the directors the District Judge came to the conclusion that the directors were guilty of gross mismanagement of the Company's affairs and they had misappropriated and misapplied the Company's money to the extent of Rs. [...] The learned Judge upon a consideration of the evidence and the arguments summed up inter alia to the Jury to the following effect :-- Did the Dfendants conspire to molest and injure the Plaintiffs by unlawful means ? Did thex or any and which of them unlawfully persuade the men whose notices had not expired to break their contracts?
