The object of the present Article is to present the reader with a critical survey of the criminal rulings of the past year reported in the Indian Law Reports series the Calcutta Weekly Notes and the Calduttat Law Journal. [...] 10 it was held that the plea of the infomality of the proclamation could he considered on the surrender of the fugitive and in ShamItu Nat'l v. King-Emperor 9 C. W. N. ccxcvi the Court directed moneys realized by the sale of the property to be paid to the alleged absconder. [...] In the same case the learned Judges also held that when a Court sanctions a compromise on behalf of minors the order of the Court should state in terms that the question whether the compromise was fig the benefit of the minors was con. [...] P. Code — the Court holding that an appeal lay ; and in the appeal the Court held that the High Court has not only the power to revoke the sanction granted but also to grant the sanction refused and in the result modified the order of the District Judge by granting sanction for an offence under sec. [...] The coments of the Defendant were nob justified but seeing the way in which the Liberal paper had taken up the question and considering the way in which the circular had been distributed it was not altogether to be wondered at that the paper on the other side should have taken notice of the matter.
