He was a great friend of the late Chief Justice and of many of the Judges of the Calcutta High COurt who succeeded him and also of the late Governor Of Bengal. [...] The lower Courts held that the clause imports the exclusion of the Chowkidari Chakran lands from the putni : Held—That the clause which reserves to or confers upon the zemindar the right to appoint or dismiss choirkidars has not the effect of rserving to the zemindar and of excluding from the putni the Chowkidari Chakran lands Girish Chandra v.
