THE JUDGMENT OF THE JUDICIAL COMMITEE Privy Council in the Tanjere murd case and Life debate in the House of Commons in the Sitapur neurder trial seems to have awakened a Onuirte interest of our English legal in the reform of the C Procedure in India With regard to the Madras case the English Law journal seems to be puzzled as to how on the evdence which is described by their Lordships of the J [...] propose to deal here with :he subject of the constitution of Hindo State in its entirety but only to a...tice the position and functions of the Ministers of Justice and the Minis_er of Law in the State Council which would be of special interest to the st udent of legal history. [...] (2) That the customs of market overt in the City of London does not acply where the shop-keeper is the purchaser not the seller of the goods. [...] (9) In the case of a sale of anothet's property before an assembly of merchants and to the knowledge of the King's officers if the seller is unknown or the buyer is dead the owner may recover the property by paying half the price to the buyer the custom in such a case being that one half of the value is lost to each party. [...] The suit wbrought against the executors who resisted the Plaitiff's claim on two grounds (I) that the legacy in the Will was no more than a payment of the deposit or debt and the Plaintiff could not have both the debt and the legacy (2) that inasmuch as the executors had not given their assent to the legacy the Plaintiff could not sue them directly as upon a complete title for that amount
