The Lord Chancellor of England at the last Guildhall Banquet spoke of the Judicial Comittee in terms which go to emphasise the tribute paid to it by Lord Haldane when lie was a. member of the Bar and whose dream in life was to raise it to a status which wo d link the distant members of the British Et Lire in one common bond of equity and justice. [...] you will find the solid confidence—in supplement to the tremendous testimony of the battlefield— that this great city is not merely a centre of vast and intricate business activity is not merely the Hbrine of custom and tradition old as our history but that it is the loving heart of a growing Empire Yv hose great pulse throbs and tinlges to the far finger-tips of the world. [...] We take the following from the English Law Journal regarding the observations made by the.11ord Chancellor sitting in the Judicial Comittee concerning the question of delay in prsecuting appeals before the Privy Council from India and Ceylon.
