[...] During the present year a Canadian Act has been passed to raise the salary of the member of the King's Privy Council holding the recognised position of First Minister to $15 000 per annum that of the other Miniters to $10 000 per annum and that of the Solicitor-General to $7 000. [...] In the course of the debate as reported in the Journal of the Pa'rliam& tits of the Biaptre Sir Robert Borden stated the salaries of Ministers in the other Dominions. [...] Sir Robert Borden expressed the hope that the increases which have now been granted would not need to be disturbed for the next Sfteene or twenty year& A few weeks before Australia had increased the renu neration of the members of the bommo'weaZth Parliament from £600 to £1000 provided that in.respect of Ministers of State President of the Senate Speaker of the House of Represenatives a
