We therefore take it that the Ex-Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court has been appointed a member of the Judicial Committee in the same way as Sir John Wallis the Ex-Chief justice of the Madras :I igh Court was appointed a member of the Judicial Comtnittc(. [...] The Law Times of the 16th October last in an editorial paragraph entitled “ India and the :Judicial Committee.” notices the retit'tient elf Sir Lancelot Sanderson and the apointment. of Sir George Rankin as Chief jusisicte of the Calcutta High Court in the following terms :— “ Last week we announced the resignation of Sir Lancelot Sanderson K. C. Chief Justice of the Iligh Court of Jud [...] colleagues on the Ten3la the mei-1 11*s of the profession and the officers of the Court. [...] The appeals from the Original Side were for the greater part of the year taken before him And he necessarily and ungrudgingly took the part assigned by tradition to the Chia Justice in cases that yeguired the decision of a Full Bench. [...] The section does not sneak of the case of the death of a decree-holder during the pedency of the execution proceedings.
