The Times notices that delivering the opnion of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council on 15th February in an appeal from Madras Lord Atkin said that the judgment of the High Court was given in 11 suits of ejectment brought by the Respondents against the respective Appellants. [...] Instances of the former are the Conventions under the Labour provisions of the treties of peace of the latter the International Sanitary Convention of Paris of 1926 and the Czeoho-Slovak Trade Convention of 1928 signed at Ottawa. [...] It will thus be seen that the requisition to attend must in Calcutta be issued by the Commissioner of Police himself but the lifmination of the person summoned may be by the Commissioner or the officer not blow the rank of a Sub-Inspector who is investigating a cognizable offence whereas in the Mofussil the investigating police officer has not to get the assistance of a superior officer to g [...] (3) (4) and (5) of r. 29 provide that the Collector shall issue notice to the other co-sharer landlords and if after service of such notice it apears to the Collector that there is no dipute in respect of the share claimed by the applicant the Collector shall pay him the portion of the transfer fee according to such share but that if it appears to the Collector that there is a dispute n [...] 26E (4) and the first proviso to see! 26C (3) of the Act quoted above makes it evident to my mind that the Act gives the Collector the power of deciding the title and share of the applcant co-sharer by necessary implication if not expressly; as otherwise it would be meaningless to speak of the production of certain kinds of documentary evidence.
