The impression he thus created at the end of a trial was profound and to repititions of this achievement was due the halo that came to settle round him as one of the exceptional personalities of the Bar. [...] The postponement of the date of election produces however a gap between the expiry of the present Council's term and the formation of a new one. [...] If the election is to be held on the 31st the result is that between the 8th and the 31st of the present month there will be no Bar Council for Calcutta. [...] 93 of the Village Self-Government Act provides that the provisions of the Code of Civil Prcedure shall not apply to any trial suit or proceeding before a Union Court and the section further provides that the procedure to be followed by a Union Court in any trial suit or proceeding and in the enforcement of its decisions and orders shall be in accorance with the rules prescribed under sec. [...] The Plaintiff applied for the appointment of a commissioner for the ascertainment of the amount and for execution of the decree on 15th December 1919.
