From a telegraphic message in the press we find that the Indian Pay Temporary Abatement Bill was read for the third time in the House of Commons on the 25th of November last and sent to the House of Lords. [...] Only the rights of the members of the sevice appointed before 1919 as also the pesions to which they were entitled under rules framed prior to the passing of the Act of 1919 are safeguarded. [...] Thus it will be seen that while the pay and allowances of the members of the Civil Service in India may be reduced by the Secretary of State for India in Council the salary of the Judges after appointment cannot be so altered or interfered with. [...] It has further to be remembered that the Regitrar is the head of the ministerial officers and on his reports depend the prospects of the very capable body of men who work in the Court's offices. [...] The High Court does not regard the question of ehancement only from the point of view of the public interest but from the circustances of the particular case before it.
