Writing to The Times Langdon K. C. Director of the Legal Studies in the Inns of Court questions whther the Order in Council under the Economy Act can be legally effective to touch the salaries of High Court Judges. [...] are concerned the disease of the moment ocurred because when the Legislature of the island refused to pass a financial law which the Governor put before them the Governor appealed to the Colonial Office who passed the measure for him over the heads " of the local law-givers. [...] The Plaintiffs the two sons of Bisheshwar Nath (who were born in 1905 and 1909 repectively) brought the present so: t on the 10th February 1926 impugning' the validity of the gift on the allegation that the prperty gifted was part of the joint family property belonging to them and their father. inasnnAch as it had been thrown into the comon stock or blended with the property of the j [...] The learned Judges of the High Court overuled the Plaintiffs' contention that as only one set of accounts was kept for the joint property and separate property the latter must be deemed to have been blended with the former so as to make it joint family prperty The Plaintiffs' application to the High Court for leave to appeal to the Privy Coucil having been rejected as disclosing no su[...] The accused applied to the High Court for a transfer of the case from the particular Judge to the Court of Sessions at Thalia : Held (MADGAVKAR J.).—That assuming that the notification was intro vires the High Court had power under sec.
