The Statute in his opinion ipliedly authorises a Dominion to repeal“ any Act on the Imperial Statute Book including the very title deeds which brought the Domnion legislatures into being ” that is to say the constitutions themselves.* But as soon as the legislatures of the Australian States passed resolutions denouncing the Statute on this ground a section was adted re-affiring the p [...] The truth of the matter however is that the international status of the Dominions is * Prrtf. [...] The fault this time lies not with the Iiegislalore but with the Revenue authorities of Bengal who have not been careful to prservii the original engagements with th proprietors of estates and have their papers to come to a condition in which the dates for paying instalments of revenue appear to be the same as the last dates for paying arrears. [...] In the absence of other evidence and relying on the nature of the entries in the Touzi Register the Judicial Committee very properly came to the coclusion that the last dates for payment of arrears were also the dates for payment of revemie. [...] The cause of the rising was the intolerable treament which the officers and crew received at the hands of Bligh but a desire to return to the pleasures of the Tahiti island one of the Society group which the men had tasted is given as an additional factor.
