It will also be remembered that on the 19th January 1931 in the Parliamentary debate at the close of the Round Table Coference when the question of communal rpresentation was pressed to the front by suporters of the policy of divide and rule Mr. [...] He hinted also that not merely the domestic politics of India but the international complications in the Far East were likely to react on Asia and the affairs of the East were deserving of the most serious consideration. [...] Keith has all along maintained that " the sovereign authority of the United Kingdom in respect of the Domnions stands in law unquestioned." Since the Statute of Westminster the learned Professor regards the Statute itself as " a singular assertion of the Sovereignty which still adheres to the Imperial Parliament." Pref. [...] adz Sovereignty of the Imperial Parliament by maintaining that in the English Constittion as also in that of the United States the real Sovereignty is that of the law and not that of the Legislature or of the Executive head. [...] Just as in the United States there is in England "Sovereignty of the Law." Once conceded that Parliament derives its authority from the law and that the law puts limits to that authrity the declaration of the status of Great Britain and the Dominions presents itself in quite a different light.
