We reproduce below Sir Nripendra’s analysis so far as it relates to the representation of the Bengal Hindus in the Provincial Legislature who form the bulk of the cultured and educated community and also contribute the bulk of the provicial revenue. [...] Out of the 8o seats for Hindus and others so will be allowed to the Depressed Classes as the result of the Pact. [...] The qualifications of the author as a Deputy (Bench) Clerk to the Justices for the city of Manchester have helped him materially in the practical applcability of the abstract principles of the law of evidence in concrete cases in the Criminal Courts. [...] In the miscellaneous cases that arose out of the execution proceedings the question arose whether the payment gave a fresh start of limitation against both the judgment-detors: Held (ROWLAND and AGARW ALA JJ.)— That the payment by D saved limitation as against both himself and R. In the case of a debt secured by a mortgage the debt is one although the property pledged as security for its repa [...] It is the duty of the Court to be satisfied prima facie and after following the necessary procedure and making the necessary' investigation to come to a conclusion that the statements by the debtor are true.
