The sudden death of His Imperial Majesty King George V so soon after the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of his reign deprives the British Empire of a remarkable sovereign and removes from the field of international politics a perso [...] His rule commenced under the shadow of a constitutional crisis when a conflict was imminent between the House of Lords and the Liberal Goverment of the day; and hardly had the clouds lifted when the most terrible crisis of modern times appeared in the form of the World War. [...] On the Bench he commanded universal esteem not only by reason of his profound knowledge of the law and the soundness of his judgments but also by the manifest seriousness of purpose with which he aproached the questions submitted to his decision and the dignity of his bearing.
