It recalls somewhat ominously the attitude taken up every time by the British Government the attitude of the mythical Main-White who is superbly impartial as between the parties and is therefore left in the end to arbitrate on account of the failure-of an agrement ! [...] ixxv appear to move in Bengal even in the matter of the prosecution of police sergeants in spite of the Cotoner's findings about the Calcutta shooings last November. [...] The Land Tenure Bill now on the legislative anvil in South Africa is one of the ugliest attacks ever made in that disreputable country on the right of Indians to property and to citizenship. [...] L. fend the suit on the ground that the suit was premature inasmuch as it was orally agreed between the parties on -the 1st of November 1945 that the ahnount of the cheque would be paid out of the sale proceeds of the tickets of the Theatre during the ensuing X'mas holidays.
