in our issue of the 23rd December last while commenting on the War Crimes trials we expressed the hope that the intenational Military Tribunal for the Far East at Tokyo would rise to the gravity of the task before it AN here the Nuremberg Tribunal had miserably failed. [...] Otherwise the trial of the war :riminals will throughout bear not very happily for future world peace the stamp of vengeance and the biased will of the victor. [...] That is a main reason why for more than two millennia the relation of India with her neighbours and more especially with China's far-flung territories and the entire south-eastern Asiatic region las–been one of great cordiality of give-and-take and of happy collaboration in the achievement of the glories of peace. [...] Perhaps the League is peeved even more on account of the splendid response which the sponsors of the Coference have received from Muslim countries of the Middle East. [...] and parties both in the country as well as in the legislature and in the Ministry which should be composed of elements that can command the effective allegiance of all iportant sections of the people."
