Khuhro ever the question of the venue of Cabinet meetings and that in future Cabinet meetings would be held at the Governor’s house and under his chairmaship. [...] The Governor of a prvince may he a person with rich political experience and wisdom; that experience and that wisdom should of course be at the disposal of the province. [...] We cannot—nor do we have the least desire to—anticipate what is going to happen but these three or four-monthly alternations of Miniterial personnel are to say the least so tantalising that they have become the staple of much irreverent gossip and will we fear culminate in producing a really undesirable result namely the common man’s distaste and following it disgust at fhe pnlitior of [...] It has been not insignficant that when the average man in Cacutta was worried to the point of exaspertion by the appearance of plague in epidemic form to cap all his other woes the principal political news of the province was the goings-on behind scenes for the reconstitution of the West Bengal Ministry. [...] Quick alternations of Ministries suggest some of the worst features of political life in France-L-and with the many evils which are concomitant with Bengali life these days inefficiency and graft being not the least among them our politics will soon come to put on the somewhat bizarre but extremely disconcerting colours of South American goings-on.
