Cases of the wrong man having been sentenced are on record but this is probably the first recored instance when the wrong has been righted in the literal sense and the retropective operation of the sentence has uheld majesty of the law. [...] The professional organisations of the accounants have however been among the firmest supporters of the reform. [...] In 1945 the committee under Justice Cohen submitted to the Goverment the now-“famous Cohen Report which became the baiis of the ref Orm. [...] The protection of stock-holders and of the investing public generally is the main object of the reform. [...] Where a prospectus states that the copany will apply for permission to have the stock dealt in on the Stock Exchange the stock-holders can ask for the return of their money if the application is refused within six weeks.
