During the term it would be our endeavour to report the iportant judgments as early as possible and point out in the Notes portion of the Journal the effect of the important judgments on the existing state of law on the subject. [...] In the Notes of Cases of other High Courts an effort would be made to give short summaries of important judments of the other High Courts so as to acquaint the readers with the trend of decisions elsewhere. [...] Although the space in the Notes portion of either the Calcutta Weekly Notes or the Supreme Court Appeals is limited every effort would be made to find a place for informative articles in either of the Journals. [...] He was anxious to keep abreast of the docket of cases before him and the interest of the junior members of the profession was nearest to his heart.. [...] The inchoate right of a Hindu vidow to claim maintenance out of the husband's property in the hands of his co-parcener is not assignable inasmuch as the claim is of unl:quidated and unacertained amount.
