Here is an account of another wedding : The men being assembled in one room the women in another the groom's father arises and makes the offer of his son's hand the bride's father accepts it and informs the company the amount of dowry he will give ; the bride then enters attended by her friends and the women of both families. [...] If the court approved it first ascetained the value of the estate left by her first husband it then transferred that to the custody of the widow and the intended number two and they had to keep it in good order and use it for the support and maintenance of the children of the first marriage ; any sale of it made without the approval of the court was void. [...] The failure of the Civil Court in a case of perjury to make a memorandum of the evidence of the accused does not vitiate the deposition if the evdence itself was duly recorded in the language in which it was delivered in such Court.—(Behari Lal Bos7 9 W. R. Cr. [...] The learned Judge did not think it necessary to determine the point raised that unless a divorce is granted the pecuniary relations 'of the husband and wife cannot be adjusted and the large property of the wife will in whole or partly fall into the hands of the seducer. [...] 50/- for her life out of the rents issues and profits of certain premises the subject of the trust the balance of the rents being payable to the Petitioner and her mother under the said deed.
