[...] look the fact that in cases of interference with a reigning King the constitutional justification is breach of the original cotract between the Crown and the people " the contract of allegiance on one side and maintenance and defence on the other and if the holder of the Crown is sought to be removed on the ground of such breach it is difficult to see how he can himself be a party to such re [...] As to the other aspect of the question namely whether an act of the two Houses of Parliment without the King could by itself cause an abdication the present episode funishes no light or guidance unless it he that whatever constitutional form the abdication might have been made externally to take the governing factor was the will of the people as expressed in and endorsed by the Parliam [...] of the King in Parliament) can empower the King to leave the throne by will can regulate the future succession to the throne and can transfer the throne from the reigning King to his successor. [...] Whenever the throne passed by force the new King would of course summon a Parliament whi0 would recognize his title but the existenc4 of the Parliament depended on the validity of the King's title and not the latter on the recognition of Parliament.
