the left hand of the Courts; persons that are full of nimble and sinister tricks and shifts whereby they pervert the plain and direct courses of Courts and bring justice into oblique lines and labyrinths: and the fourth is the poller and exacter of fees which justifies the common resemblance of Courts of justice to the bush whereunto while the sheep flies for defence in weather he is sure to [...] Ordinarily costs follow the event except in cases exceptionally rare in which leave to appeal is granted on the express condition that whatever may be the result of the appeal the Appellant will pay the costs of the Respondent. [...] In applications relating to or arising out of appeals the names of the parties are not set out in full but the description is left at the first names of the two parties followed by the omnibus phrase " and others." This causes great iconvenience whenever it becomes necessary to know who the parties are or to refer to the rights of or the part played by any partcular party or to ascertain [...] The Bar felt confident proceeded the Avocate-General that during the tenure of his Lordship's office his Lordship would maintain the best traditions of the office of the Chief Justice of this Court. [...] When an order of the Court has been made authorising the guardian of an infant to sell a property belonging to the infant the alienee is entitled to trust that order and he is not bound to enquire into the expediency or necesity of the money for the benefit of the infant's estate.
