of the Chief Justice and Puisnes of the Federal Court bringing into repeated prminence the fact that the judicial cadre will include members of the Civil Service. [...] The paragraphist of the Law Journal writing sremewhat inconsistently refers to this “ judicial state of affairs ” as one which “ to The lawyers in England has always seemed strange ” and sums up the position in the following observation: “ In the United Kingdom we would not tolerate a Judge who was also a civil servant.” The actual prvision made in regard to leave to be granted to the Judges [...] The evdence of the distinguished experts to whom the Judge paid a well-deserved tribute is of the highest educational value and the unique method of investigation adopted by Prfessor Brash in which he compared photgraphs of the heads of Mrs. [...] At the end of the trial and when passing the setence of death the Judge remarked that the evidence could leave no doubt on the wind of anyone and the Court of Criminal Appeal endorsed that view. [...] 25 of the Guardians and Wards Act the minor must be " ordinarily resident " witin the local limits of the jurisdiction of the Court.
