He enjoyed the confidence of the Government as well and served for a time as a member of the Governor’s Exective Council and was also chosen as a delgate of the Government of India to the League of Nations. [...] 120B I. P. C. as triable by jury ; and the procedure adopted is that the whole case is submitted to the same set of persons who are treated as assessors for the puposes of the conspiracy charge and as jurors for the purposes of the other charges. [...] Therby the system of trial by jury was extended to all the Districts of Bengal with the eception of Darjeeling Jalpaiguri and the Chittagong Hill Tracts the offences triable being those under Chapters VIII XI XII XVI XVIII and XX of the Penal Code sec. [...] The procedure is to take the vedict of the jury on the substantive and rlated charges and then to take the opinion as assessors on the charge of conspiracy. [...] It is the thickness of the paper that has gone to swell the bulk of the book but the neat printing and get up have gone to add to its attractiveness.
