The Nawab was still the Nazim of Bengal Bihar and Orissa but the East l'hdia Company as Dewans had a prdominant voice in the collection of the revenue : " The welfare of the Nawab and our employers is our object by receiving the just revenues due to the Government." At the top of the machinery for the lection of the revenue were the Resident at the Durbar and the Ministers of the Nawab n [...] One of the most noticeable results of the Dual' Government the English as Dewans and the Nawab as Nazim with the nominal Government by the latter under the direction of the former was the rapid disintegration of the old zemidary elalq. [...] The creation of a new terrorowas the result of the Dual Government these were in the shape of the lircars and Banians of the Munshis and Dei-ans of the Company's English servants either at the Durbar at Murshidabad or in the Cutcheries in the District. [...] 65 of the new Civil Procedure Code only the vesting of the property is made to relate back to the date of actual sale and if the property vests in the auction-purchaser from the date of actual sale he is liable for the rents falling in arrear of the lands of which he himself is the purchaser anthis view has been upheld by their lordships in the 18 C. W. N. 136 case where it has been laid dow [...] the local limits of the jurisdiction of the Munsif of Alipore the plaint was returned for presenation to the proper Court and was on the same day presented in the proper Court namely the Count of the Munsif at Sealdah.
