The University illustrates principles by examples ; the professional bodies explain examples by reference to principles." No atternnt is made by the committee to prnounce on the comparative merits of the two methoda except suggesting that the aim of the Universities is education and that of the professional bodies is practice. [...] Is it correct to say that the use of the word " then " in the second sentence of the susection means that the Court can require the landlord to put in further sums only if the transferee comes and says what other sums he has paid and after he has. [...] The word " then " can only mean "after notice has been given " not " after the transferee has appealeed." Again later on the section says that the Court shall direct the landlord to deposit such amount as the transferee has paid on this account " not " such amount as the transferee states to have paid on this account." The amount of landlord's fee paid is entered in the notice under sec. [...] The requirement that the Court is to direct the landlord to put in certain further sums is independent of any representation by the transferee and since the amount of the lanlord's fee is ascertainable without any such representation and from the landlord hiself it seems that the Court will not be folowing the law if it refuses to direct the lanlord to put in this amount on the grou [...] The most striking 1eature of the work is the incorporation of the pricipal alterations effected in the English Company Law by the Companies Act of 1929.
