The Council.---The Council consisting of the principal officers of the♦ State under the Presidentship of the Minister disposed of as usual much of the important work of the State. [...] The acknowledgments of His Highness' Government are due to the Government of Bombay lifor their courtesy in permitting – (a) The Director of our State Libraries and the Press Reporter under him to visit the Press Reporters' Office under the Oriental Trans14tor to Government ; (b) The Jail Superintendent and the Jailor of the Central Jail Baroda to visit the Jail at Ahmedabad with the object of m [...] It was agreed between His Highness' Government and the Cutch Durbar that property which is the subject of a criminal offence committed within the jurisdiction of one State and found in the possession of a person other than the accused residing within the jurisdiction of the other should be reciprocally transmitted to the Court of the State trying the case to enable it to dispose of the same i [...] The Government of India accepted the right of His Highness' Government to acquire by purchase the lands of the Girassias who were residing in the Rewakantha at the time of Mr. [...] (days.)30 It has been the long cherished desire of His Highness the Maharaja to secure the co-operation of the people in the administration of justice and to train them to settle their petty differences themselves so as to save them from the trouble the expense and the demoralizing effects of the law Courts.
