Damala the Agricultural Marketing Adviser and the Chairman in regard to the circulated papers which showed that the percentages of refraction found in the samples of wheat drawn at origin " were lower than " at Karachi " and " at Delhi ". in the opinion of Mr. [...] A certain amount of Opposition to the mutual scale was put up by the representatives of the Ronthay and Calcutta mills on the score that the miller would virtually be subsidising the grower to produce pure wheat and this was really the business of the Agricultural Departments. [...] The Clutirman said that this matter had been receiving the attention of Agricultural Departments for a long time and emphasised the desirability of fixing a lower basis than the present one in view of the fact that in the near future it is anticipated that a large area of new wheat will be put down in Sind and that the payment of a premium on white wheat would encourage growers there to grow pure [...] Other members however referred to the difficulty and the expense of analysis in finding out the moisture content and it was eventually decided that the possiblity of specifying moisture content at diffeent periods of the year at different centres should be investigated by arranging for samples to be kept at different centres and tested at different seasons of the year to determine the normal mo [...] He also added that the period of delivery inthe upcountry markets should be so adjusted as to enable the buyers upcoffntry to discharge their obligations in the terminal markets in respect of their contracts for the same month and in order to achieve this lie considered that the delivery periods in the upcountry markets should be fixed for the first 15 days of the delivery month thus giing pl
