8. Inspections.--During the absence on leave of one or the other of the officers in the latter part of the year all the blocks outside the Kolar Gold Field area could not be visited. [...] The question of the removal of fireworks shops in the Bangalore City from their present position in the midst of inhabited buildings in one of the busiest parts of the City to a suitable locality as directed* by Government in the review last year is pending with the District Magistrate and the City Municipal Commissioner Bangalore. [...] The complete sealing' of the bottom of the 42nd level for the whole length of the mine referred to in last year's report has greatly assisted the control of the ventilating system and arrangements are being made to place a similar seal at the 56th level. [...] The continuity of the east lode in depth in the northern section has been highly disturbed by a series of cross courses "11 and faults but in view of the continuity of the high grade ore that has recently been developed in the 46th level north of the disturbed zone it is anticipated that the 48th drive north will expose ore of the same quality. [...] The opening of the main haulage at the 48th level has considerably improved the ventilation of the bottom levels and the general ventilation of the mine which is natural is satisfactory.
